The Doulas Role

A professional doula’s job is profound and yet amazingly simple. She provides invaluable physical, emotional and educational support sensitive to your unique birthing process. She works with you to gain a full understanding of your priorities and desires for your birth, and will advocate with you to achieve the best experience possible. Her high level of expertise permits the non- birthing partner to relax and focus on supporting the mother without needing to hold sole responsibility for every detail. By working together, the Chapman doula and your partner complement each other’s strengths. Her guiding presence frees both you and your partner to fully experience your baby's unfolding arrival.

Hospital Diplomat

The Chapman doulas are trained to maintain harmony and respect in the birth room. Well versed in hospital protocols, our doulas complement the medical team by providing you with uninterrupted care during your entire birth experience.

Selecting a Chapman Birth Doula

The Director of Birth Doula Services conducts an in-depth assessment of your own birth vision to help make the best match possible. We recommend beginning the interview process as early as you can before your delivery date to assure obtaining the birth doula of your choice.

Hospital Diplomat

Every Chapman doula provides an exceptional level of care. Prices for our birth doula services are based upon the number of births, range of expertise and additional services offered by our doulas. The fee includes at least two prenatal care visits, labor support and at least one postpartum follow up visit.

Rates: $400 - $1,400

For couples that have cost considerations or demonstrate special need circumstances, we offer intern doulas for $200 and occasionally volunteer doulas on a case-by-case basis.
